Sr. Project / Process Engineer

Position Description Purpose of Job: Utilize process knowledge and expertise to contribute to plant operations and assist in process troubleshooting.  Identify and evaluate process improvements and new technologies.  Implement projects which result in improved process yield, higher capacity, improved operating efficiencies, recognizable cost savings, improved product quality, and new products.  Implement and manage expense and capital projects. Position Requirements Dimensions of Job: 1. Provide support for plant operations.  Work closely with operators and production managers on a daily basis to identify opportunities for improvement (quality, yield, capacity, cost reduction).    Lead productivity and capability improvement efforts. 2. Participate in implementation of capital projects.  Work in cross-functional teams to install new facilities or modify / expand existing facilities.  Work with Operations to optimize new and existing processes (quality, yield, capacity, etc.). 3. Support implementation of MMSR's (Minimum Mandatory Standards & Requirements) with potential to lead specific efforts as a SME (Subject Matter Expert). 4. Responsible for knowledge of the basics of the regulations and laws affecting assigned work areas and working to help ensure that all regulations and laws are followed.  Responsible for bringing all EH&S incidents or concerns to management for resolution. 5. Support new product development (NPD) activities.  Work with the FRA Technology department in selection of process equipment, process scale-up and plant trials.  Create cost models, determine process capability and plant capacity to aid Sales and Marketing in development of business cases. 6. Support customer technical service activities.  Work with the FRA Technology department to optimize product performance in customers' applications.  Provide technical consultation services for customers when requested by the Sales department. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with Operations on a daily basis to identify and correct process capability issues.  Implement controls to sustain process capability improvements.   2. Assist Operations in quality improvements, cost reduction, and equipment utilization through statistical analysis and Six Sigma techniques. 3. Analyze and document plant processes and operating procedures.  Take part in training of plant operators. 4. Provide technical expertise relating to equipment operation and repair. 5. Modify plant process control systems and install field instrumentation to acquire process data and trending for analysis / process troubleshooting. 6. Develop, implement and manage expense and capital projects.  Prepare project documentation, including:  feasibility reports, project estimates, scopes of work, EH&S reviews, and capital appropriations requests (CAR).  Provide accurate project forecast data to Engineering Manager on a monthly and/or quarterly. 7. Process development activities to include creation / modification of process flow diagrams (PFD's), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID's), equipment specifications, control logic, etc. 8. Work on cross-functional project teams during feasibility, design, construction and commissioning phases of capital facilities to achieve business objectives. 9. Work with the FRA Technology department in support of customer technical service and new product development.  Duties will include scale-up of processes, analysis of product performance and management of plant trials. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Major Challenges: 1. Optimize existing processes and implement improved technologies without compromising quality or profitability. 2. Function in a fast paced, changing environment while managing multiple projects, deadlines and priorities. 3. Provide process engineering coverage for multiple facilities, including:  Fairmount Plant, Fairmount Technical Center and the Kennesaw Plant.  Position may require up to 25% travel. Decision Making Authority: 1. Identify alternatives, provide estimates and make recommendations for process improvements and manage / assist in the implementation. 2. Select and evaluate process equipment and make recommendations for plant use. 3. Design and manage pilot and plant trials. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
